Kerner: “Tomorrow is National Whistleblower Appreciation Day, a day each year when we take a moment to honor the courageous individuals who choose to speak up and report waste, fraud, and abuse inside the federal government. Thereby, whistleblowers can play a critical role: they promote efficiency, save taxpayer dollars, safeguard the health and safety of Americans, and hold government officials accountable for mis-and malfeasance.
“OSC is committed to supporting brave whistleblowers and ensuring they are protected from retaliation once they make a protected disclosure. We will continue to work with agencies to foster a culture that supports and encourages whistleblowers, and with Congress to strengthen whistleblower protections. I also want to acknowledge OSC's amazing staff who have continued to excel in their service to the federal community, achieving record numbers of favorable actions on behalf of whistleblowers over the past two years.
